Barcelona made a handsome comeback to football last night.

Up against Real Mallorca, in their first game after three months, the Catalans hardly skipped a beat.

It was, however, yet another Lionel Messi inspired performance who seems to have returned stronger than ever. A goal and two assists for the match and in general being involved in all of Barcelona attacks, football fans were high on Messi magic last night.

It was a performance to be praised and Barcelona left-back and scorer of one of the four goals last night, Jordi Alba profusely praised his team for their 4-0 demolition of Mallorca.

“We controlled the game,” the left-back said (via Marca).

“After three months without playing, we had a great game. The team came out well. To have scored in the first minute was good, it gives confidence.

“Real Mallorca can make things difficult, so a goal at the very start helps.

“Now we have 10 LaLiga finals and we are very motivated.”

The victory means that Barcelona have now opened up a 5 point gap over their rivals Real Madrid who have a game in hand and hence are in action tonight to cut short the deficit.

There are 10 matches more to play for La Liga to end.
