Alex Valle Poised for Barcelona Return After Impressive Loan Spells

The 20-year-old La Masia graduate began the 2024–25 campaign with Celtic, where he made 19 appearances across all competitions, including the UEFA Champions League, and contributed three assists.

His dynamic play and adaptability quickly caught the attention of Barcelona’s coaching staff.

Although there were discussions about recalling him in January to address Barcelona’s left-back concerns, the club ultimately allowed him to continue his development in Scotland.

In January 2025, Valle transitioned to Italian side Como 1907 on loan, where he reunited with former Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fàbregas, now serving as Como’s head coach.

Valle expressed enthusiasm about the move, stating, “I’m delighted to be here and excited about the project being built at Como 1907. I really like the style of play here and I think it suits me well”.

Barcelona’s management has been closely monitoring Valle’s progress. Reports indicate that he is the only one among Barcelona’s current loanees with a strong chance of securing a spot in the first team for the upcoming season.

Bojan Krkić, overseeing the development of loaned players, has reportedly been impressed with Valle’s performances .

With his contract extended until June 2026, and an option for two additional seasons, Valle’s future at Barcelona looks promising.

His successful loan experiences have not only enhanced his skills but also positioned him as a viable option for Barcelona’s left-back position in the near future
