Sergi Roberto will have surgery on his thigh injury.

The Spanish defender made around 12 appearances this season but is yet to feature for new boss Xavi.

His injury will leave him out of action for nearly three to four months and will likely play again this season.

Roberto will enter the final six months of his contract in January and is yet to agree to a fresh new deal.

The news is a huge blow to his future prospects of staying at Camp Nou beyond this season.
