Barcelona are now trying to renew the contract for Ronald Araujo.
Barcelona have started preparation for the summer transfer window and they have ticked few points so they can boost their squad under the new manager.
Ronald Araujo is now dealing with a long-term injury. The Uruguayan is set to undergo surgery on a thigh muscle issue. He will miss the maximum number of games next season.
The 24-year-old will be sidelined for four months and is unlikely to kick a ball in anger until December this season 2024/25. The Catalan giants were open to cashing in on Araujo this summer.
As per Matteo Moretto, Araujo is heavily linked with Bayern Munich and Manchester United. It is now down to Barcelona and Araujo to work things out, despite a new contract not being closed.
Barcelona are now trying to renew the contract for the Uruguay international. It could be more expensive for Catalan even if they have to his contract demands.
His contract will expire in the next two years. If they cannot renew the 24-year-old before next summer, they will likely face a scenario where he would either leave for a reduced fee or leave as a free agent in the summer of 2026. Barcelona can also sell him after renewing his contract.
