The experienced striker Robert Lewandowski and FC Barcelona have already finalized a contract, according to Mundo Deportivo, which cited unnamed sources. With the proceeds from the sale of percentages of future television rights revenue, President Joan Laporta used his renowned “economic levers” to acquire the Pole from Bayern Munich to acquire Jules Kounde and Raphinha. The Pole joined the Catalans in the summer of 2022.
Nearly three years have passed, and all three men are still essential to a club that is vying for the La Liga championship against the front-runner and defending champion Real Madrid, led by Hansi Flick, Xavi Hernandez’s successor. Lewandowski, the top scorer for Spain and the second-ranked marksman in the Champions League, occasionally seems every inch the 36-year-old he is.
Lewandowski signed a four-season contract when he left Bayern, but the last clause was contingent on him playing a specific number of games in 2024–2025, which would automatically activate a clause.
Lewandowski and Barca agree to continue for another season
Lewandowski’s strict adherence to his nutrition, sleep schedule, and recuperation after games has allowed him to maintain his peak performance. Lewandowski and Barça have reached a one-year deal; however, there were reports of a one-year deal with an optional second year. With this, he will leave the club at the age of 37. Saudi Arabia has extended extremely generous offers to Lewandowski for the last two summers, but he has declined each one without question.
He is really content in Barcelona with his family, so he didn’t even consider the proposals. Anna, his wife, has started a number of businesses in the city already. The family intends to remain in their Gavà residence following Lewandowski’s playing retirement. He has no intention of retiring anytime soon.
Lewandowski is committed to making more titles for his collection and continuing to enjoy the game while wearing the Barça colors. Beyond his ability to score goals, he enjoys being a leader and helps mentor and coach the team’s younger players both on and off the field.
