The coach of Barcelona’s youth team, Albert Sanchez, has stated his hope that Dani Rodriguez will soon get an opportunity to play for the senior squad. Despite a hamstring injury, the 19-year-old winger is back to his best with Barca Atletico, scoring two goals in a 2-2 draw with Celta Fortuna’s reserve team.
Sanchez has faith in Rodriguez’s abilities. “That’s what we’re here for,” Sanchez said during the game against Celta, where he entered as a second-half substitute and had a big impact. “I hope Dani gets the chance.” He plays as a winger like Barca. He is incredibly talented. Last summer, Barcelona was able to retain Rodriguez in spite of Real Sociedad and Athletic Bilbao’s interest. The club extended his contract through 2027 in the hopes that he would eventually be able to move up to the starting lineup.
‘I hope Dani Rodriguez gets the chance’ – Albert Sanchez
When Rodriguez scored two goals in the Celta Fortuna game, he expressed his happiness. When he looked back on his recuperation from the injury, he said it had been a difficult time, but he had fought hard to return to the squad in the best possible condition. These have been challenging months that have required a lot of labour. I did everything I could to return and support the team. “I’m really happy,” the athlete declared.
Notably, Barcelona was able to hold onto Rodriguez last summer in spite of intense interest from Athletic Bilbao and Real Sociedad, his previous team. Barcelona was able to extend his contract until 2027, despite the desire of these clubs to hire him. Rodriguez, who is thought to be a player who might advance to the senior squad at any point, makes this acquisition a smart investment.
