Barcelona confirm Clement Lenglet muscle injury ahead of crucial fixture

Barcelona have announced that Clement Lenglet has suffered a muscle injury in the biceps femoris of his left thigh

The French center-back had medical tests on Thursday, which verified his injury, although Barcelona did not say how long he would be out. They stated that it would be contingent on his recuperation.

“Test conducted on Clement Lenglet on the morning of Thursday 3 February has revealed an injury to the femoral biceps in his left hamstring,” Barca’s statement reads.

So far this season, Lenglet has played 790 minutes distributed between 16 games in La Liga and the Champions League. For minutes, he’s been pitted against Gerard Pique, Ronald Araujo, Eric Garcia, and Samuel Umtiti.

Barcelona has endured a slew of injuries this season and will need all the aid they can get as the season winds down.
