Due to a calf injury that was discovered on Monday, Barcelona midfielder Dani Olmo is not expected to play in the forthcoming La Liga Clasico encounter against Real Madrid. “There is no connective tissue involvement in Olmo’s left calf muscle injury,” Barcelona claimed in a statement, omitting to mention how long he should expect to heal.
According to Spanish media, Olmo may be out for about two weeks, which would make him doubtful for the October 26 match against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Due to the injury, Olmo was sent home from last week’s camp with the Spanish national team. Ferran Torres, a forward for Barcelona, also left the Spain team on Monday due to muscle soreness.
Torres will miss Tuesday’s 2026 World Cup qualifying match against Bulgaria after being “diagnosed with muscle overload without any structural injury,” according to Spain.
Barcelona issue statement on Dani Olmo injury
Although Olmo has been diagnosed with a calf issue, no rupture has been discovered; therefore, the 27-year-old’s ailment does not seem to be significant.

Dani Olmo, a member of the first team, has a left calf muscle injury that does not affect connective tissue. His development will determine how long he takes to recover,” the club said in a statement.
According to early sources, Olmo will not be ready to play against Olympiacos in the Champions League or Girona in La Liga for Barcelona for the next two to three weeks.
Olmo might make a comeback in time to play Elche at the beginning of November, but he is also anticipated to miss the October 26th El Clasico match against Real Madrid.
