Barcelona may profit from Ansu Fati during the January transfer window despite the 21-year-old academy graduate’s never-ending difficulties. Ansu Fati may not finish the 2024–25 season with FC Barcelona, per a report from the Spanish publication SPORT. The 21-year-old academy graduate is still having fitness problems, so the Catalan giants are considering making a move to sign him during the January transfer window.
For Barcelona supporters in recent years, Ansu Fati has been one of the most heartbreaking tales. After moving from Sevilla to the Blugrana in July 2012, the Spaniard has been a member of the team for a decade. At the start of the 2019-20 season, he broke records as a teenager, which led many to declare him the successor apparent to Lionel Messi’s position.
Barcelona is already studying its first January sale
Gaining a major role has been difficult for the homegrown talent, who came back to prove he could still be a key player for Barça. It was decided to keep Ansu in the team because there were no compelling summer transfer offers and the club was having financial difficulties finding a successor. Just 28 minutes have been accrued by him in all competitions since the beginning of current season, which makes his role practically non-existent.
According to an article in the publication Sport, Ansu Fati’s circumstances can significantly alter when January arrives. In order to determine the optimal exit strategy for the player, Barcelona has already scheduled a meeting with Jorge Mendes, his agent. Loaning or selling Ansu would be the club’s first priority if it could bolster its position in the winter transfer market or give some of its young players greater chances.
