According to Sources, Super Eagles star Ademola Lookman’s agent has been contacted by Spanish La Liga powerhouse Barcelona over a possible summer transfer. In an effort to strengthen their attack before the upcoming campaign, Barcelona has been watching Lookman as a possible summer acquisition.

The Super Eagles star is anticipated to depart Atalanta in the summer. He has already garnered a lot of attention, which is not surprising given that he has made 115 appearances and contributed 50 goals and 24 assists.

Manchester United, Atletico Madrid, Juventus, Arsenal, and Nottingham Forest are all interested in Lookman; thus, Barcelona would need to outbid them for his services. It has also been reported that Liverpool is involved.

According to Caught Offside, the Blaugrana have now taken a crucial move by signing Lookman. Lookman’s agency has been contacted by Barcelona over a potential summer deal.

The Super Eagles player has a €60 million release clause at Atalanta, and given Barcelona’s performance over the past two years, they may still be able to squeeze out the money despite their financial difficulties.

Barcelona contact Ademola Lookman regarding summer move

Lookman has been identified as a potential attacking addition for Barcelona’s wide players. Additionally, they have a keen interest in Diaz of Liverpool; however, it’s possible that they will approach the Atalanta attacker seriously. Currently, the Nigerian team has been contacted by the Catalan club, with plans to visit in the summer.

Although there is a potential to add a new wide attacker to their current depth, it is unclear if Barcelona is serious about their interest in Lookman. Lookman’s preference may also be very important, but if the Catalans approach, it might be hard to refuse the 27-year-old Serie A attacker.

The pay, though, might be the problem. Atalanta presently pays Ademola Lookman slightly over €2 million annually. Only four Barcelona players currently earn more than that. The Spanish champions will also take care to maintain their current wage structure.

Lookman’s salary may be doubled or tripled by the other English clubs interested in him; therefore, this could be a problem. Furthermore, he could have to support a return to England because the 27-year-old was born and raised there.
