La Liga champions Barcelona are reportedly preparing a late-summer loan bid to bring Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford to Camp Nou, confirming their ongoing transfer-chevron strategy ahead of the September 1 deadline.

Barcelona Prepare Loan Bid for Marcus Rashford

According to Sports Mole, Barcelona’s hierarchy has decided to submit a loan proposal for Rashford, who showcased four goals and six assists during a loan spell at Aston Villa this past season before a hamstring injury curtailed his impact.

The 27-year-old is back at United but has been declared surplus by manager Ruben Amorim, triggering interest from across Europe.

Barcelona are simultaneously pursuing Nico Williams from Athletic Bilbao, but still see value in securing Rashford’s versatility—capable of playing on the wing or as a centre-forward—under manager Hansi Flick.

Flick reportedly appreciates Rashford’s ability to offer cover for the ageing Robert Lewandowski, though his arrival may limit the former United star to a supporting role.

From United’s side, the club have established a £40 million sticker price but remain open to a loan deal—on the condition Barcelona pay a loan fee and meet Rashford’s weekly wage, estimated at £325,000–£350,000.

Football Insider reports Barcelona are willing to wait until the latter stages of the transfer window to finalise a deal, once funds from other deals—like Williams—are confirmed .

On a personal level, Rashford has been clear about his interest in the move. In a recent interview, he stated his desire to team up with 17‑year‑old sensation Lamine Yamal at Barcelona, calling it a dream alignment.

Meanwhile, United’s coaching staff anticipate a smooth exit if terms are agreed, though they’d prefer a permanent deal that aligns with their financial goals.
