FC Barcelona Goalkeeping records information

Barca awards a clean sheet to the starting goalkeeper when the team does not concede in the complete match. Since the start of the decade, Barcelona have had 8 different goalkeepers in front of the goal.

Goalkeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen can shoulder much of the recognition for the eye-popping numbers, but he hasn’t done it alone. Up and down the lineup, Barca has shined, be it on attack, defense, or the midfield. Opposing teams don’t have the ball much, and when they do, the back line has been nearly impenetrable. But ter Stegen has turned in some stellar performances this season.

But another goalkeeper has marked this decade (2010-2019) and that is Barcelona legend Victor Valdes. He left Barcelona for the first time in the spring of 2014 it was with six league titles, three Champions Leagues, and an unrivaled record as the Blaugrana’s most successful goalkeeper of all time.

Although he had offers from several clubs in Spain to prolong his career, Valdes retired from professional football in August 2017; after remaining without a club for the first half of the 2017–18 season, he later confirmed his official retirement in January 2018.
