Barcelona’s youthful team may see some intriguing developments in January, and Marc Bernal’s name is one that is being mentioned behind the scenes.  The gifted La Masia midfielder has not ruled out any alternatives for the forthcoming winter transfer window, according to a recent report from Mundo Deportivo.

Therefore, how much playing time he receives in the upcoming weeks and how he handles those chances might have a significant impact on his future. Bernal has been gently reintegrated into the team by Hansi Flick, who seems to be carefully controlling the young player’s minutes since he returned from a protracted injury layoff earlier this season.

Even though Bernal hasn’t started a game under Flick, this doesn’t mean that the manager doesn’t trust him—quite the opposite. Flick is reportedly quite fond of the adolescent, but he is being cautious to prevent any further injuries or physical strain.

Talented Barcelona midfielder not ruling out January exit

Although Bernal hasn’t started a game under Flick, this doesn’t mean that the manager doesn’t trust him; quite the contrary.  Flick is reportedly quite fond of the adolescent but is being cautious to prevent any further injuries or physical strain.

Notably, the midfielder returned against Valencia before sitting out the following two games against Getafe and Newcastle. Later on, he had a brief appearance against Oviedo, missed the match against Real Sociedad, and made another appearance against PSG.

He has continued to make sporadic appearances, missing games against Girona, Sevilla, Real Madrid, Elche, and Club Brugge. According to reports, the club believes that “his time will come” and does not currently intend to approve Bernal’s loan transfer.

According to insiders, a loan agreement may still be possible, though, depending on how Bernal performs, how he responds to playing little minutes, and how the coaching staff assesses his development going into January.
