While Julián Álvarez remains the club’s preferred target, Atlético Madrid have repeatedly rejected Barcelona’s advances, leaving the Catalan giants to explore alternative options.
Lautaro Martínez has now emerged as a serious alternative. The Inter captain has been remarkably consistent in front of goal, scoring 19 or more goals for seven consecutive seasons in Serie A.
However, any potential deal faces significant obstacles. Martínez signed a contract extension with Inter in August 2024, tying him to the San Siro until June 2029.
