Barcelona considering appointing Rafael Marquez as club's new head coach

According to reports, Ferran Torres is being offered by La Liga powerhouse Barcelona in exchange for 35-year-old Portuguese international Rafael Leao from AC Milan.

FC Barcelona is interested in Rafael Leao, according to a report by the Spanish publication Fichajes. As the summer transfer window approaches, the Catalan powerhouses are searching the market for a productive attacker and have their sights set on the AC Milan front. By including Ferran Torres in the deal to sign the Portuguese international, the Blanchania will try to sweeten the pot.

Despite not being the Blaugrana’s clear first-choice starter, the 25-year-old has contributed to Barcelona. With 11 goals and three assists in just 1,020 minutes of playing time, Torres has helped lead the team to 14 goals. However, the Catalan powerhouses are willing to use the Spanish forward as leverage in the deal to sign Leao, raising doubts about his long-term future at FC Barcelona.

Barcelona’s swap plan to sign Rafael Leao

As the summer transfer window approaches, the Catalan powerhouses are searching the market for a productive attacker. The AC Milan talisman has therefore become a desirable target because of his attributes, which make him the perfect counterpoint to Raphinha and Lamine Yamal.

Leao can start on the left side, Yamal on the right wing, and Raphinha back in the number ten position. Ferran Torres will also receive €40 million from Barcelona in exchange for the Portuguese international’s departure from AC Milan during the summer transfer window.

The possible deal is not completely ruled out by Milan’s board, particularly if Ferran Torres or another credible player is involved. The Spanish attacker is still a gifted player with potential, even with his recent form swings. When paired with the financial offer, this might make the transfer attractive to the Rossoneri. Negotiations in the upcoming weeks will determine the final result.

Barcelona is adamant on closing the deal, but Milan still needs to determine whether the offer suits their needs. Given the approaching summer transfer window, Rafael Leao’s future may not be clear, and the outcome of the talks between the two teams will determine where he ends up.
