Barcelona looking to replace Semedo with RB Leipzig upcoming star

Barcelona is keeping an eye on RB Leipzig fullback Lukas Klostermann. They want to convince the 23-year old on their side in the summer, if not in January – as a replacement for Nelson Semedo.

Semedo’s contract runs out at the end of 2019/20 season and the Blaugranes desperately need someone to replace him. The up and coming Lukas Klostermann played his first match during the last piece of Bochum’s 2013/14 Bundesliga 2 battle. Further, he was nominated as the club’s Player of the Month for May. After agreement talks arrived at a stalemate, Klostermann was signed in by Leipzig in summer 2014.

He has made around 40 appearances in the previous two seasons and has been performing wonderfully – no wonder he has caught the eye of Spanish giants Barcelona. The German has contributed greatly to Leipzig’s success – who are currently sitting at the top of the Bundesliga table.

Eric Abidal, Barcelona’s club director, had been closely watching the performance of the German international. He now believes that it the right time for the Spanish club to make a move at Klostermann and get him as a fullback on their side.

If the Catalan club delay too much, they might lose out to other giants like Real Madrid or Juventus. Juventus is also keeping an eye on the Leipzig star player and he might get snapped up soon by some club – which is not a surprise.

Time to think fast, Barcelona!
