Lionel Messi is expected to leave PSG in the summer.
Barcelona are immensely confident of bringing Messi back to his boyhood club in the summer as he is keen to not extend his deal with PSG anymore.
He will become a free agent in the summer and several clubs including MLS outfit Inter Miami are interested in signing the 36-year-old World Cup winner.
There is further interest from Saudi Arabia but Barcelona are hopeful of bringing him back to Camp Nou despite their longstanding financial problems.
Barcelona manager Xavi who has played with Lionel Messi admits that the decision lies with the six-time Ballon d’Or winner.
“It’s up in the air,” Xavi said in a news conference on Monday when asked for an update on Barca’s chances of signing Messi.
“It depends on many things. There is not much more I can say. Leo is a spectacular footballer. He is a friend. From there, it depends on many things, but above all on his intentions and what he wants.”
