Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong has received offers from several Premier League teams and has been linked to leaving the team at the end of the current campaign.
The 27-year-old midfielder may be sold by Barcelona in the summer since he is no longer a reliable starter for the Spanish powerhouse. TBR Football claims that through middlemen, teams like Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Liverpool have made offers for the Dutch international midfielder. It’s unclear if the English clubs will pursue him in the future, but they have been notified of his availability.
Due to the performances of domestic players Marc Casado and Pedri Gavi, De Jong’s playing time has significantly decreased this term. For the Catalan powerhouses, the 27-year-old has only made four starts. De Jong addressed rumors about his future last month. “People think I want to stay at Barcelona forever because life outside of football is so good here, and that’s good, but what happens on the pitch is always more important,” De Jong continued in an interview with the Dutch publication Voetbal International.

Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Man City, and Man United have “been contacted and informed of his situation—with a view to a possible deal this summer,” according to The Boot Room. Despite making just four starts in La Liga this season, Barcelona still seems to consider the former Ajax midfielder “a major part of their squad.”
The source claims that “there is interest in England,” and the Blaugrana will be enticed by the possibility of earning a large sum of money for De Jong and having his outrageous salary off the books.
The former Ajax player added, “When I signed for Barcelona, I didn’t imagine winning only a La Liga, Copa del Rey, and Spanish Super Cup after four years.” That disappoints me because I expected at least double. Things that happen on the road are unpredictable.
Barcelona is willing to sell De Jong in order to raise funds for other needs, even though his contract expires in 2026.
