Gerard Pique would love to see Erling Haaland at Barcelona.
Speaking to Marca, the Spanish defender did not reveal any details of a potential deal.
Barca are reportedly one of the club pursuing Haaland’s signature. Real Madrid, Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Chelsea are offering stiff competition. The Norwegian striker has not expressed any desire to leave Dortmund this summer. But given his transfer value and the uprising demand, anything could happen.
“I have no idea on this, but I wish he would come. There are great players who are already with us, but it’s a decision the club has to make”, Pique told an interview with Marca.
Borussia Dortmund are reportedly holding out for €180 million, a price Barca can’t afford right now. But president, Joan Laporta has promised sweeping changes at the club soon.
Pique himself is edging towards the end of his career. He added, “The day I stop playing for Barcelona, I will leave football, I will never go to another team.
“If Koeman tells me he does want me, then it is over.
“I am only passionate about playing for Barca, now I would not have the motivation to pull on another shirt.”
