Barcelona Pull Out Of Move For Rodrigo Moreno

Barcelona have spectacularly dropped out of the race for Valencia forward, Rodrigo Moreno.

It was only yesterday that reports emerged that a deal was near completion as the player was noticed missing his team’s training session.

In another twisted bit of news, Barcelona were even claimed to be after Sporting Lisbon’s Bruno Fernandes. The chiefs at Camp Nou were going use Fernandes as a pawn piece to sign Rodrigo.

However, that bit of crafty engagement has arrived at a dead end. Manchester United seem to have won this hand at the poker table. They have agreed terms to sign Bruno Fernandes and Barcelona have no other way to resolve the issue with Valencia.

As of now, the deal for Rodrigo is dead in the water. But where does this leave Quique Setien in his search for a backup forward? Luis Suarez is set to be out for three months and it has already been a rough start to life for the new manager.

With just a couple of days left in the Janaury window, Barcelona will have to strike a deal for another forward. There is still a chance to sign Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang or AS Monaco’s Wissam Ben-Yedder.
