Barcelona have received their first official proposal for goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen ahead of the January transfer window.
Turkish Giants Besiktas Make Push to Sign Barcelona’s Ter Stegen
The offer arrives from Turkish Süper Lig side Besiktas, who are aggressively pursuing the German international.
Recent weeks have heavily linked Ter Stegen with a move away from the Camp Nou.
The 33-year-old finds himself in a challenging position, now ranked as the third-choice goalkeeper under manager Hansi Flick.
This lack of playing time makes a winter departure increasingly likely, as Ter Stegen needs regular minutes to secure a spot in the German national team for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Besiktas, actively seeking a new first-choice goalkeeper for the second half of their season, have moved quickly to capitalize on this situation. The Istanbul club has now positioned itself as the frontrunner for his signature.
According to a report from Diario Sport, Besiktas submitted their initial proposal on Wednesday.
The Turkish giants have outlined a deal where they would cover Ter Stegen’s full salary for the remainder of the campaign.
The proposal also includes a non-mandatory purchase option, set at approximately €8 million, which Besiktas could activate at the end of the season.
The ball is now in the player’s court. Sources indicate that Ter Stegen has not yet given Besiktas an answer regarding their offer.
The experienced goalkeeper is reportedly waiting to assess his options, anticipating that further proposals may arrive from other clubs in the coming weeks before he makes a final decision on his short-term future.
This opening bid from Turkey formally begins the process of what could be a significant January departure from Barcelona.
