Barcelona has reopened the search of Liverpool attacker Luis Diaz, according to Mundo Deportivo. Given their genuine desire, the Catalan titans face a big financial problem.

Barcelona’s top priority in their search for a new left-winger is the Colombian attacker. However, due to financial difficulties, they are not able to immediately afford him. The situation is dependent on the sale of Brazilian winger Raphinha, who has attracted interest from Saudi Arabia.

After receiving a hefty offer, Raphinha is reluctant to relocate to the Middle East, permitting Barcelona to wait for other potential purchasers before proceeding with an offer for Diaz.

Diaz, who is under contract with Liverpool until 2027, is required to attract a high transfer fee. However, Barcelona’s sporting director Deco and his colleagues believe the 27-year-old is an excellent match for the role.

They honor his technical prowess, ability to get past defenses, and resilience under pressure. Moreover, his defensive contributions make him a desirable choice.

Diaz was an essential player for Liverpool last season, scoring ten goals and assisting five times in 51 games across all competitions.

However, his Premier League performance garnered criticism; he scored just eight goals in 37 league appearances, missing 12 great chances with a conversion rate of 9%.

Diaz’s father, Luis Diaz Sr., has put a personal touch to the story, accepting that his son supports Barcelona and aspires to play for the club. This emotional connection could be critical if Barcelona is able to secure the cash required to approach Liverpool with a serious bid.

Liverpool must now make an important decision: should they take advantage of Barcelona’s interest and invest in an alternative with perhaps superior finishing, or should they keep Diaz, hoping he improves his performance in front of goal while continuing to profit from his other exceptional qualities?
