Club legend Lionel Messi has decided to join Lionel Messi in the summer.

The World Cup winner has announced he will move to the MLS and join Inter Miami upon the expiry of his PSG contract.

He was expected to re-join his boyhood club Barcelona but due to the club’s ongoing financial issues, the reunion failed to materialise.

In a recent interview, Messi revealed that he was excited at the prospect of returning to Camp Nou but didn’t want to go through the same drama he did back in 2021.

Barcelona released a statement: “President Laporta understood and respected Messi’s decision to want to compete in a league with fewer demands, further away from the spotlight and the pressure he has been subject to in recent years.

“Both Joan Laporta and Jorge Messi also agreed to work together to promote a proper tribute from Barca fans to honour a footballer who has been, is, and always will be beloved by Barca.”

The 35-year-old has racked up 672 goals in 778 appearances for the Catalan giants.
