Barcelona great striker Robert Lewandowski has admitted that he would like to play alongside Barcelona legend Lionel Messi before he retires

Lewandowski joined Barça this past summer, and the Spotify Camp Nou crowd already adores him. His contributions have been essential in helping the Catalans hold the top spot in the La Liga standings.

The 34-year-old committed to a deal with Barcelona that keeps him with the team through the summer of 2026 with an option for another year. This means he will be a part of the team for a few more years.

Lewandowski has also stated that he would like to play alongside Messi, a legendary player for Barça who has been extensively linked with a return to the team ahead of the 2019–2020 season. Messi is now more of a playmaker, according to the Poland captain, and playing alongside him would be a dream for any striker.

Last year, Messi left the Catalan giants when his contract could not be renewed because of the organization’s problems with its wage budget. There have been several recent rumours of a return to Barcelona because his PSG contract expires at the end of the current campaign.

The 35-year-old reportedly has a verbal agreement to stay at PSG for one additional year, according to recent sources. Thus, any conceivable pairing of him and Lewandowski at Barcelona now seems unlikely.
