Youssoufa Moukoko is expected to sign a new contract with Borussia Dortmund, dashing Barcelona’s chances of landing him on a free transfer in the summer

One of Germany’s most promising emerging musicians is Moukoko. In 22 games across all competitions, the 18-year-old has had a strong start to the 2022–23 season, scoring six goals and assisting on as many.

The potential of the German international departing Dortmund as a free agent in the summer was created by the fact that his present contract with Dortmund is set to expire at the end of the current campaign.

Barcelona, for instance, had expressed a keen interest in hiring him in a Bosman deal before the next campaign. The Catalan giants want to replace Robert Lewandowski with a new centre forward so that they can split the goal-scoring duties with the seasoned striker.

According to Spanish reports, Moukoko would be willing to join the Blaugrana. Even though there were roadblocks in the way, negotiations with Dortmund continued concurrently. However, according to BILD, Moukoko has decided to sign with Dortmund. According to the story, the 18-year-old will sign a contract extension that will keep him working until the summer of 2026, earning an estimated €6 million year.

Additionally, Moukoko will receive a sizable €10 million signing-on bonus, and his agent will receive a €5 million commission in addition to 10% of the striker’s salary. According to certain sources, Moukoko might lobby Dortmund to add a cheap release clause that prospective clubs like Barcelona could exploit. But the report from BILD makes no mention of any such clause.
