Barcelona have officially tied down one of their star performers, Raphinha, to a new contract that will keep him at the club until June 30, 2028.

Raphinha Extends Barcelona Contract Until 2028 After Stellar Season

The Brazilian winger has been a driving force in Barça’s domestic treble-winning campaign and is now set to play a pivotal role in their future under newly-extended head coach Hansi Flick.

The Catalan giants confirmed the news in a club statement: “Barcelona and Raphinha have reached an agreement for the renewal of his contract, which will link him to the club until June 30, 2028.”

Raphinha, 28, has had a season to remember. In 56 appearances across all competitions, he scored 34 goals and registered 25 assists, emerging as one of Europe’s most productive forwards.

His performances have seen him emerge as a potential Ballon d’Or candidate, especially after leading Barcelona’s frontline to La Liga, Copa del Rey, and Spanish Super Cup triumphs.

The former Leeds United winger was particularly electric in the Champions League, where he finished as joint top scorer with 13 goals despite Barça’s dramatic semi-final exit to Inter Milan.

His hat-trick against Bayern Munich in the group stage and brace in the El Clasico win over Real Madrid were among the highlights of a glittering campaign.

Raphinha’s renewal comes just days after Flick extended his own contract until 2027.

The German tactician played a crucial role in convincing Raphinha to stay following speculation about a potential summer exit after a turbulent 2023–24 season.

Speaking after the extension, Raphinha expressed his delight at continuing with the club he joined in 2022 for $74 million:

“Barcelona is my home now. I’m proud to keep fighting for these colors.”

Meanwhile, 17-year-old prodigy Lamine Yamal is also set to sign a new contract soon, according to his agent Jorge Mendes.

With Raphinha and Yamal tearing up the wings and Robert Lewandowski leading the line, Barcelona are looking sharper than ever.

The club, currently on 99 La Liga goals, will aim to cross the 100-goal mark in their season finale against Athletic Bilbao.
