Barcelona is planning to push the battle for Juventus star Matthijs de Ligt. La Liga giants will face a task with Premier League club, Chelsea as they are heavily linked with him.
Chelsea are keen to take the 22-year-old because they are going to lose their three key defenders in the summer. None of them signed a new contract with the Blues.
The centre-back is just 22 and he could be a future prospect for any club. His contract with the Serie A club will expire in two years.
Meanwhile, the player hasn’t expressed his desire to stay at Juventus for the rest of his career. The club may also release him as they are focusing on other options.
As per the reports of Calciomercato, both Barcelona and Chelsea are eager to secure De Ligt.
Barcelona tried to sign him when he joined Juventus from Ajax but were denied by the Italians at the time.
