Barcelona to offer £14m for Manchester City defender Eric Garcia.
Manchester City defender Eric Garcia has rejected a new contract and wants a move away from the Etihad.
“He announced to us that he doesn’t want to extend his contract with Manchester City,” Guardiola said in a press conference.
“He has one more year and after that, he doesn’t want to extend. We want it but he doesn’t want to extend it, so I imagine he wants to play in other places.”
The Blaugrana are currently on the lookout for a central defender to replace ageing Gerard Pique in the coming years and has made the 19-year old their top target in this transfer window.
According to reports Manchester City put a price tag of £25 million on the Spaniard.
This is a steal deal for any club for a player of García’s potential and Barcelona should act up fast to get this deal done.
Barcelona is preparing to offer £14m for the 19-year old despite the fact that the offer is £10m less than his price tag set by Manchester City.
His contract expires next summer and he may join the Spanish giants on a free transfer but Barcelona is keen on signing him this summer.
