Sergio Aguero Will Finalise Barcelona Move After CL Final

Sergio Aguero Will Finalise Barcelona Move After CL Final

Sergio Aguero is heading over to Barcelona after the Champions League final.

Fabrizio Romano claimed that a medical is due to be held right after Manchester City’s final game at Porto.

Aguero will see out a wonderful Premier League career of ten years with 5 titles and 258 goals. He now can lead Barca’s frontline, seeing how they desperately need a consistent goalscorer in their ranks.

Barcelona’s problems this past season has been compounded by their frontline dropping their goal contributions. Antoine Griezmann has not matched expectations since his £120m move from Atletico Madrid. Ousmane Dembele is stalling on a new contract and Ansu Fati is set to miss a lot more games with a knee injury.

Aguero will finally be the replacement of Luis Suarez in a traditional number nine role. Perhaps, a part of convincing Lionel Messi to stay is to get his international teammate to Camp Nou.

Aguero is by no means a part of the club’s long-term future. He is 32 now and has had his fair share of injury troubles. Reports suggest that he could finalise the move right before Argentina’s 2022 World Cup qualifiers against Chile and Columbia.

Everton Would Be Happy To Take Philippe Coutinho Off Barcelona’s Hands

Everton Would Be Happy To Take Philippe Coutinho Of Barcelona's Hands

Philippe Coutinho will be warmly welcomed at Everton, according to Steve McManaman.

The Liverpool great spoke on how the Brazilian could end up at Merseyside this summer.

“A lot of my mates are Evertonians, I’ve got nephews that are Everton season ticket holders, if you’ve got those types of players who can produce that type of magic, I’d love to see him here, back in the city of Liverpool playing for the Blues,” he said.

“With his type of football, you would always encourage him to want to play. You know he’s not playing at the moment for Barcelona, you’d like him to play because of what we’ve seen before,” he told HorseRacing.net.

“I would be astounded if Everton could do the deal and pay his wages to be honest with you. Unless he takes a monumental pay cut, I would be very surprised.

“I would be very surprised if he could come to a club like Everton in the city of Liverpool and they pay that type of money but he’s a fantastic player, he’s not playing enough in Spain, he didn’t play enough last year when he won the Champions League at Bayern Munich.

“He needs to play football. He might have to take a huge pay cut and Barcelona might have to take a huge hit on their transfer and let him go somewhere where he’s able to play, and if that happens to be Everton I’d welcome him. Like James Rodriguez, those types of players you want to see.”

Paul Pogba Told To Leave Manchester United For Barcelona

Paul Pogba Told To Leave Manchester United For Barcelona

Paul Pogba has been urged to dump Manchester United for Barcelona this summer.

Reports indicate that the World Cup winner could leave Old Trafford ahead of the 2021/22 season.

His contract is due to end next year and things are still looking very bleak in Manchester. For some reason, he still seems to stand out like a sore thumb in The Red Devils midfield. And that is exactly why his brother, Matthias Pogba has told his older brother to consider a switch to Camp Nou.

In an interview with El Chiringuito TV, Spanish football reporter Jose Alvarez quizzed Matthias.

“Paul likes Laporta very much, can you tell us something about your brother’s situation?” he was asked.

Matthias replied, “Once he wins the Europa League, then we will talk.”

Pressed further on rumours linking his brother with Barca, he added, “I don’t know anything but I’m with you Jose, I would sign tomorrow if that was the question. ‘Hopefully he will sign for Barca.”

In a recent interview with Stadium Astro, ex-United first-team coach, Rene Meulensteen, said, “Solskjaer likes to play with two pivots in Fred and [Scott] McTominay. The reason for that is to protect the back four but I think you need another midfield player in there that is more creative that can do a bit of both like Fernandinho at Manchester City, or Fabinho with Liverpool.

“Pogba creates an imbalance in the team because he has to play, he can’t play as one of the two pivots. Defensively, people run off him so he doesn’t do his defensive job.

You play him from the left, okay you try to manufacture something there. I’m not sure. Maybe the best way is to say can we get some money from him and look at what we need.”

Lionel Messi Urged To Leave Barcelona This Summer

1
Lionel Messi Urged To Leave Barcelona This Summer

Lionel Messi has been told to leave Barcelona by his compatriot.

Argentine World Cup winner, Mario Kempes believes Messi should reunite with Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.

Negotiations are going down to the final minutes between Messi and Barcelona. There is still no clear indication on whether he will stay at Camp Nou or leave. The 33-year-old’s contract is due to run out next month.

“[Messi] should re-join forces with Guardiola, go to PSG or Bayern Munich,” Kempes told BILD.

“They are the clubs that either have the money or the players to achieve success. Bayern directors think with their heads, not with their portfolio and would never pay such a high salary.

“Messi is torn. He is very comfortable in Barcelona, but realises that the chances of winning the Champions League again with Barcelona are few.

“In recent years he has always been eliminated very soon and the club is having great difficulties to build a new winning team due to the financial situation.”

Messi, like most footballers, will have to accept a pay cut in the current scenario. He is the world’s highest-paid footballer but Barca will find it difficult to match his demands. Joan Laporta is already sweating over the contracts of other Blaugrana stars.

Reasons For Barcelona vs Eibar Prediction & Betting Tips

The Barcelona squad are the favourites for this tie at 1.44 with Unibet. Eibar are priced at 6.00 with Unibet to lose at their home ground.

Given the position of the two teams, it is not hard to see why Barca are priced so high. Eibar are at the end of the table – at the 20th spot and this has been a disappointing campaign for them. They haven’t had a good run of form since the season started and would be struggling to fight against the former champions.

Speaking of quality, this will be an opportunity for Lionel Messi to back his lead in the top scorer’s list which is why he has been handed odds of 3.85 with Unibet to score the first goal.

Joan Laporta Sets Out Immediate Need To Make Changes After La Liga Defeat

Joan Laporta Sets Out Immediate Need To Make Changes After La Liga Defeat

Barcelona have lost the La Liga title after a woeful season under Ronald Koeman.

Club president, Joan Laporta admitted how far the club has fallen from their perch.

“I said that I’d evaluate at the end of the season depending on the results and performances,” Laporta said.

“We won the Copa del Rey, and we’re proud of that, but we were knocked out of the Champions League early and LaLiga [Santander] was lost incomprehensibly.

“From my point of view, you’ll see that a lot of decision have to be made, starting next week. We’ll comment on them then. We have to work hard and have a competitive team in the Champions League and domestically.

“When I say that this is the end of a cycle, it’s because that’s what I think is necessary.”

If by decisions, Laporta means firing Ronald Koeman, not a whole lot of the fanbase can expect to be surprised. While Koeman has steadied the ship at Camp Nou, he has not been able to recapture their true form.

The team still looks far too disjointed with the players currently on their wage books. Plenty of swiping chances will be necessary if Barca wants to head back into the new campaign as a different team.

Lionel Messi has a big decision to make this summer.

The six-time Ballon d’Or winner bagged his 30th goal of the season on Sunday’s 2-1 to Celta Vigo.

The loss eliminated Barcelona from the La Liga title race and Messi probably played his final match at Camp Nou.

Lionel Messi now has a big decision to make on his future.

Ronald Koeman has expressed his desire see Messi at Camp Nou for next season and admits the club would struggle for gaols if he decides to leave in the summer.

“We hope it was not Leo’s last game at Camp Nou because he is still the best player in the world and he has shown today that it is impossible to play without him,” Koeman said (via Marca). “He has already scored 30 goals that have given this team a lot of points.

“It is a question for Leo. We hope that he continues with us because if we don’t have Leo, we have doubts over how we’ll score so many goals.”

Jordi Alba - Barcelona Players Must Accept Responsibility For Poor Season

Barcelona lost once again on Sunday night against Celta Vigo, ending their hopes of winning the La Liga.

Jordi Alba believes it was up to the players for ending their campaign on such a dismal note, losing 2-1 at Camp Nou.

“The first half was very good, they hardly got into our half and then get a goal from outside the box,” Alba told Movistar.

“We had the game under control, we were creating chances. The second half was not so good. Celta are a team that play good football. It was tough and their second goal was bad luck.”

“We have to give value to the Copa del Rey but it’s true that it’s now a lot of games without winning,” he added.

“We depended on ourselves, we’d done the hard work, cutting back all those points, and we didn’t then take advantage by going top.”

“The players, we’re to blame when things go badly,” the defender said. “We tried today, above all in the first half, but Celta are a good team and it was hard. That’s football. It’s a shame to lose.”

Barcelona only have to face Eibar next season with just a Copa del Rey trophy to show for it.
