Luis Suarez has told his Barcelona team to gear up ahead of their next clash in the Super Cup De Espana.
Barcelona did not begin their new year well as they started 2020 with a disappointing draw against local rivals Espanyol in the derby. The Catalan outfit will be looking to get back some momentum soon though.
“We did the most difficult thing, which was to come back [from a goal down] at a rival’s stadium,” Marca reported Suarez as saying.
“I think we lost two points today.
“There are things to improve, whether you draw, lose or win. You have to evaluate what happened and then improve.
“We knew that it was going to be a difficult game, but now we’ve got great days coming up, days to try to win a trophy.
“We have to improve looking to the Supercopa.”
Barcelona are still in the lead in La Liga courtesy of their goal difference. However, Real Madrid’s 3-0 win over Getafe yesterday gave them a solid ground cover up as they reached level points with Barcelona.
The business end of the year is here and Barcelona will know that they cannot afford many of these slips ups much longer.
