Barcelona have registered their interest in Ajax full-back, Sergino Dest.
Ronald Koeman is an admirer of his talents and wants to replace Nelson Semedo with him.
There are several exits planned at Barca at Semedo definitely falls in that list. He is still young and Barcelona plan on making some cash off of his sale. They might even be able to reinvest it on Dest’s signature.
The problem is Bayern Munich are also interested in him At 19, he has impressed a lot of European big guns with his performances for Ajax. He is quick off the mark, very technical on the ball and knows how to turn in a tackle. Dest’s talents are destined for higher honours and he might already be ready to take the next step in his career.
Barcelona have been linked with other players in the same position – Joao Cancelo and Hector Bellerin. Without much cash available for transfers, Barca will have to make a cut-throat decision on who to pursue.
Luckily for them, Dest is the cheapest option of them all and also with the highest potential. Reports claim that Ajax are holding out for a €20m fee with €5m in bonuses. Plus, Dest could be convinced into signing for Barca since his path to the first team is much clearer than at Bayern.
