Joao Felix confirms his desire to stay at Barcelona

Joao Felix, the outstanding attacker who spent last season on loan at Barcelona, expressed a strong desire to return to the Catalan club for the next 2024/25 season.

After a difficult season in which he scored ten goals and assisted six times in 44 looks, Felix hopes to return to Camp Nou.

The 24-year-old Portuguese international spoke freely on the Nude Project podcast about his love for Barcelona and the need to continue wearing their colors.

“There may be movements. I am on loan but it will not depend on me. I have said that I love Barça, it has always been the club of my childhood and I want to stay but it does not depend on me. It depends on many other things. And we will see what can happen,” he shared.

The news comes amid significant speculation that Felix would return to his parent club, Atletico Madrid, following an unsuccessful season in which he struggled to convince Barcelona’s management of his long-term worth.

However, with a likely change on the bench and Hansi Flick believed to take over as manager, Felix may have new hope. Flick is supposedly a fan of Felix’s abilities, which might open the door for his return.

Felix has a great connection with Barcelona, and his passion for the team is apparent. His prospective return might provide the club a boost as they strive to recapture domestic and European dominance.

For now, the ball is in Barcelona’s court to decide whether the former Benfica prodigy will get another chance to shine at the club he cherishes. Football fans will be eagerly watching to see how this saga unfolds in the coming weeks.
