Barcelona defender Jules Kounde has expressed his frustration over the scheduling of the team’s recent La Liga match against Osasuna, which was played shortly after the international break.

“It’s Disrespectful!” – Kounde Speaks Out Against La Liga’s Fixture Chaos

Kounde criticized the congested fixture list, highlighting the physical toll it takes on players.

“I’m angry about the date. It’s not normal,” Kounde stated.

“We’ve talked about the schedule many times; we play too many games. I know there are people who don’t understand.

I consider myself lucky to make a living from our passion, but it’s disrespectful, and not just to the club.”

The French defender emphasized that the issue affects all players, not just those at Barcelona.

He pointed out that Osasuna also faced challenges due to the tight schedule, citing the example of Budimir, who didn’t receive adequate rest.

Koundé stressed that this is a widespread problem impacting various clubs, including Real Madrid.

It’s a lack of respect for the players, not just the clubs,” Koundé continued.

“We’re not machines, and to play our game and put on a good performance, we need rest.”

He called on all football institutions to reconsider how match dates are set, advocating for a more player-centric approach.

“All institutions, not just LaLiga, have to understand this. They can’t set dates however they want… you understand me, right? We have to listen to our voice.

We’re the main players, and they can’t do whatever they want.”

Koundé’s remarks reflect a growing concern among professional footballers about the demands of an increasingly packed calendar.

The tight scheduling not only affects performance but also raises the risk of injuries, prompting calls for governing bodies to prioritize player welfare in their planning.
