Barcelona manager Hansi Flick confirmed Cubarsi’s condition post-match, stating, “He needed stitches, but he’s fine.”
The club also shared an image of the young defender on social media, showing him smiling and flashing a thumbs-up, captioned “Everything for Barca.”
This display of resilience and positivity has endeared Cubarsi to fans even more.
The victory propelled Barcelona to sixth place in the Champions League group phase, with their only blemish so far being a matchday one defeat to Monaco while down to ten men.
In LaLiga, Barcelona holds an eight-point advantage over their rivals, Real Madrid, who they recently defeated 4-0 at the Bernabeu.
Flick praised his team’s performance, saying, “We’re playing very well with the ball, but we’re also creating pressure and defending very well. It wasn’t easy because Red Star know how to play, and how to defend. We had a great game.”
He expressed hope that the team can maintain this momentum throughout the season.
Cubarsi’s quick recovery is crucial for Barcelona as they continue their campaign. The young defender’s bravery and determination have already made him a fan favorite, and his presence on the field will be eagerly awaited by supporters.
