Barcelona’s Pedri Confirms He Asked Dani Olmo to Join the Club
Barcelona’s young midfield sensation, Pedri, has openly admitted that he actively sought out Dani Olmo to join the Catalan giants this summer.
The revelation came as Pedri shared his excitement about Olmo’s return to Barcelona, a move that raised a few eyebrows among fans and critics alike.
In a recent interview with El Mundo, Pedri shed light on the behind-the-scenes conversations that led to Olmo’s transfer.
Despite some speculation that Pedri and Olmo might not be the best fit together, Pedri was confident in their chemistry both on and off the pitch.
“At the Euros, we laughed about the suggestions that we couldn’t play together or that there would be competition over who would start,” Pedri said.
“We knew from the start that we understood each other well, and we would be able to work perfectly together.”
Pedri’s enthusiasm was clear as he recalled the playful banter between the two players.
“We joked about it, saying things like, ‘Sorry, we can’t play together,” he explained with a chuckle.
“But deep down, we knew we could. I wrote to him and told him I really wanted him to come here.”
Now, with Olmo back at Barcelona and the two midfield maestros reunited, they are poised to take the pitch together once again.
Following their Nations League duties with Spain, Pedri and Olmo will shift their focus to Barcelona’s upcoming match against Girona.
Fans will be eager to see how this dynamic partnership unfolds as they seek to make their mark in La Liga this season.
