Bayern’s sporting director, Hasan Salihamidzic spoke about Lewandowski’s future.

Bayern Munich are fighting hard to keep hold of Barcelona target Robert Lewandowski.

The Bundesliga club intend to extend the contract of their best player in the hope that he commits his future to the Bundesliga champions.

Bayern’s sporting director, Hasan Salihamidzic, said in an interview on Sky Deutschland, “Lewandowski leaving this summer is not an option.

“He has a contract until 2023. We will have some talks soon and we will see how they develop and how to act afterwards. We want him to stay.”

Salihamidzic was on the same page as Lewandowski, who hours before had already warned of the meeting that is scheduled between the two parties to discuss the issue of his continuity in Munich.

Salihamidzic also added, “We have the best player in the world and we want him to stay here,”

“We are proud of him and we are very fond of him.
