Bernardo Silva might be ready to move on from Manchester City following the club’s two-season UEFA ban.
That means the Premier League champions will not be allowed to play in the Champions League or any other European competition for the next two years.
It will hardly be a surprise if their top players push for exits in the coming summer. Bernardo Silva is still only 25 years old and is already rated as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League. His technical abilities paired with his workrate makes a deadly combination, one that is ideally suited to Barcelona’s playing style.
“I play with Cristiano Ronaldo in the national team and to be able to say that I play with two of the best players in history would be a pleasure, but it’s a complicated matter. If he wants to come to City, he’s welcome,” Silva said on Catalan radio.
“Maybe so [that his style would fit at Barcelona], but the Premier League is a competition that has always excited me. But it’s true, that one day I would also like to play in Spain.”
This very well could be the midfielder’s come-and-get-me plea to Barca.
