Former Barcelona player Eusebio Sacristan feels Xavi can take charge at Camp Nou.
Eusebio told Mundo Deportivo: “Just as I always say about Ronald Koeman I say about Xavi. Their experience at Barça as reference players is very positive because they know what the club is like, its philosophy and the environment.
“Xavi has wanted to be a coach and surely he is very clear about what he wants. His ability to absorb concepts is enormous, like when he was a player, and that surely helps him. He may lack some experience in the elite, but Pep (Guardiola) was also lacking when he took the team and you saw how it worked.
“It would not be a handicap and also knows the locker room.”
Xavi admitted that it’s his dream to coach Barcelona one day but he is now focused on Al-Sadd at the moment.
Xavi said in the Madrid sports newspaper Marca. “But now I am focused on Al-Sadd, excited about the new season. When Barca comes, in the short or long term, it will come,” he said.
“Above all, we have to respect Quique Setien and I wish the team all the best,” said Xavi.
