FC Barcelona are preparing a renewed approach to sign Luis Diaz, with Fabrizio Romano confirming that the Liverpool winger remains their top target for the left flank this summer.
Luis Diaz Still in Barca Plans—Romano Confirms New Bid Coming
Barcelona initially made an effort in June, but Liverpool turned down their proposal followed by a rejected bid from Bayern Munich valued at over €67 million.
Liverpool have repeatedly insisted that Diaz is not for sale, valuing him nearer €100 million.
Still, sources close to Diaz suggest that the player remains open to a move, and talks with Barcelona representatives are ongoing.
Romano recently tweeted that Barcelona’s plans haven’t changed and they intend to launch a fresh attempt soon.
He emphasized that Diaz is highly regarded by key figures in Barcelona’s hierarchy, especially sporting director Deco.
The Catalan club face stiff competition. Bayern Munich, after failing with their €67.5 million offer, are reportedly preparing an improved proposal and remain confident of securing the Colombian flyer with an upgraded bid possibly reaching €80 million.
Meanwhile, Liverpool’s stance remains firm: they will only consider offers near or above their €100 million valuation.
Barcelona are steadfast in their pursuit of Luis Diaz. Despite earlier rejections and stiff competition from Bayern Munich, Fabrizio Romano confirms the club retains confidence in securing a deal.
A serious offer likely deep into nine figures in euros may finally sway both Liverpool and the player.
