Barcelona has reportedly made significant progress in their pursuit of 18-year-old prospect Jesse Bisiwu; the team has already made direct contact to discuss a possible summer move, according to a report from SPORT. Barcelona has entered into active discussions, and the first formal meeting with Club Brugge executives has already taken place, so the interest is no longer at the scouting stage.
The site claims that important members of the club have spearheaded the operation. Joao Amaral, Barcelona’s head of scouting, flew to Switzerland to meet with Brugge officials and personally convey the club’s ambitions. This followed prior preparations, such as discussions in Brussels with sporting director Deco, who has been actively involved in advancing the agreement.
Bisiwu will first be integrated into Barcelona’s reserve squad, where he will be able to adjust to the club’s expectations and style before maybe moving up to the starting lineup. The club has previously employed this strategy with success, especially when it comes to young offensive players. However, the circumstances at Brugge complicate matters.

In any case, there must be a reason why they are pursuing him. During the Under 17 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, Bisiwu left a lasting impact thanks to his speed and technical prowess. After that, he performed really well against Atlético Madrid in the Youth League quarter-finals, hitting a superb goal in a commanding victory.
