Barcelona anticipates making substantial sales this summer as it seeks to raise money for the upcoming season and adhere to La Liga’s Financial Fair Play rules
A few first-team players might be cut, as Ansu Fati, Raphinha, and Franck Kessie have all been connected with exits from Barcelona during the summer transfer season.
A further person that might depart is Ferran Torres. The 22-year-old has recently drawn interest from Arsenal and Aston Villa after struggling to hold down a regular starting position this season under Xavi Hernandez.
Torres, according to MD, wants to stay and compete for a spot at the club rather than leave Barcelona this summer. Given the possibility that Fati and/or Raphinha would depart, Torres would find himself moving up the hierarchy.
Barcelona will have to make challenging choices this summer since the club’s long-term viability is crucial. Torres might be compelled to go even though he doesn’t want to if the team needs to make sales.
He is currently trying to stay at Barça beyond the current season, and his short-term goal is to participate in a proper pre-season with the club, something he was unable to do the previous year. He will certainly think about other choices if the club presents them to him, but right now, he wants to keep playing.
