Gerardo Martino reveals that the time he had with Barcelona was the worst year he had had in his managerial career.
The former Barcelona manager was in charge of the Catalan club from the year 2013-2014.
“From the results side it was not a bad year. We won a title (the Super Cup) and we played a final, but in Barcelona what matters is how many titles you win . However, I say it was my worst year because my contribution as Coach started and ended with the management of the team, “he said.
“For me, the classic with Real Madrid was key. We won 2-1 at home . we could add to the team was not denying him the possibility of running. “
“The speed was going to make Barcelona more complete because when there were periods of dominance of the rival team , it would be good to go back and go out into space. That was carried out the following year with Luis Enrique .”
“What gave me the opportunity to coach Paraguay was my five-year stint in local soccer, especially the Copa Libertadores semifinals that we achieved with Libertad in 2006. I was enthusiastic about the quality of football players I could have,” he said, speaking of his time as the coach of Paraguay and how that makes it one of his best years as coach.
