One of the many players vying to leave Barcelona in the next summer is Franck Kessie

Even if the second half of the season has seen a marked improvement for the former AC Milan youngster, Barcelona still has plans to move him in order to lower the team’s overall salary burden. A recent story from Diario AS claims that Kessie has actually given Barcelona permission to depart the team before the start of the new season. The club has received several intriguing offers for the Ivorian and will give the ideas serious consideration in the upcoming weeks.

This comes shortly after reports that Kessie’s agent had dismissed claims that the player had given the club the go-ahead to let him depart. However, during the past few months, Barcelona has been actively involved in their attempt to sell the midfielder. After all, Kessie’s exit might significantly increase the amount of room in the midfield unit, enabling them to sign new players in the market.

Barça has adjusted their focus in the market and is aiming to add more depth to the squad after missing out on Lionel Messi. Gavi’s contract has been successfully recorded, but the club still needs significant reinforcements in the park’s centre.

Barcelona would need a new midfielder who can function as Sergio Busquets’ long-term replacement, particularly if Kessie departs the team. There are questions about whether Ilkay Gundogan will want to leave Etihad this summer, despite the fact that the German has surfaced as a target.

Man City’s contract with Gundogan ends at the end of the current campaign, but since Man City want to extend it, Barcelona must approve Kessie’s sale as soon as possible and prepare a thorough approach to sign the German international before the start of the next campaign.
