Frenkie de Jong should consider legal action against Barcelona.

Man United legend Gary Neville has sent a strong message to Frenkie de Jong and Barcelona over their recent transfer debacle.

According to reports, De Jong is still waiting on £17 million in deferred payments before agreeing to a move to Manchester United.

The 25-year-old has previously worked with Erik ten Hag at Ajax but Barcelona’s financial constraints would force him out of the club this summer.

De Jong earlier reinstated Barcelona as his dream club and wants to stay beyond this summer.

“De Jong should consider legal action v Barcelona and all players should be behind him!” Neville wrote on Twitter. “A club spending fortunes on new players whilst not paying the ones they have under contract their full money is immoral and a breach. @FIFPRO should be all over bullying like this and stop it.”

But club president Joan Laporta claims they don’t need sell De Jong to address their financial problems.

He said: “We have no intention of selling him and he wants to stay. Manchester United is not the only one who wants him.”
