The dramatic collapse in the final minutes sparked strong reactions from both players and fans, with midfield dynamo Gavi voicing his frustrations, particularly targeting teammate Jules Kounde for a costly mistake.

The evening had seemed well under control for Barca, who were cruising with a 2-0 advantage deep into the match.

However, things took a drastic turn when young midfielder Marc Casado was sent off for a second yellow card, leaving the Catalans to fend off a reinvigorated Celta side with 10 men.

Kounde’s error, a miscalculated clearance, handed Celta an opportunity they gladly seized to pull one back.

Moments later, Hugo Alvarez completed the stunning comeback with an equalizer in the dying minutes, leaving Barcelona shell-shocked.

Post-match, Gavi didn’t hold back. Speaking to DAZN España, the 19-year-old, known for his fiery personality on and off the pitch, lamented the team’s lack of focus.

“We had the game under control, but the sending-off affected us a lot. The first goal was silly—you have to clear it there,” Gavi said, directly referencing Kounde’s blunder.

“If you’re not focused, what happens, happens. You’ve seen it.”

Despite his criticism, Gavi emphasized the need for growth. “It’s football. You have to learn from these moments. Playing with one less is difficult, and we did what we could.”

Kounde, for his part, didn’t shy away from responsibility. In his own post-match comments, he acknowledged his mistake.

“I didn’t play a good game. That error hurt us,” the Frenchman admitted.

“When things go wrong, that’s when the team’s character is tested. We need to stay united.”

With crucial Champions League and La Liga matches looming, Barcelona will need to regroup quickly.

Saturday’s meltdown serves as a stark reminder that moments of complacency can undo even the strongest performances.
