Barcelona have secured their manager Hansi Flick for another three seasons, with the German tactician committing his future to the Catalan club through 2028.

Barcelona and Hansi Flick Agree One-Year Extension Plus Option for 2029

Flick has transformed Barcelona since replacing Xavi Hernandez in the summer of 2024.

The 61-year-old has guided the team to four trophies in just two years, and a fifth title is on the horizon as Barcelona close in on a second consecutive La Liga crown.

Despite falling short in the Champions League twice including this season’s elimination at the hands of Atletico Madrid Flick’s reputation inside the club has never been higher.

President Joan Laporta adores the German coach and has already made clear his intention to renew the contract.

According to MD, Flick and Barcelona have reached an agreement on a one-year extension that will keep him at Camp Nou until 2028. The two sides will hold formal talks once Barcelona wrap up the league title.

The new deal also includes an option for a further 12-month extension, which would see Flick remain through 2029.

Both parties must agree to activate this clause, meaning the German could potentially leave after two more years.

Flick has already informed Barcelona that he happily accepts the extended stay. He loves life in the Catalan capital and remains fully determined to bring continued success to the club.

For Barcelona, extending Flick’s tenure requires little thought given the success he has delivered since 2024.

Supporters have embraced the German coach over the past two seasons.

However, pressure will mount on Flick to finally end Barcelona’s 12-year wait for a Champions League title following another disappointing European campaign this season.
