Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has warned his players against complacency despite their commanding nine-point lead at the top of La Liga.

Barcelona nine points clear, but Flick warns: “The job is not done yet”

The Catalan giants defeated local rivals Espanyol to extend their advantage with only seven matches remaining.

Flick made it clear that the title race is far from over. “It’s not finished yet. Nine points looks good, but we must seal it,” he said.

“I will not accept any drop in attitude. Until the last whistle, we have to give our best – and even after that. We continue like this, and I hope we prove it on Tuesday.”

The German coach stressed the importance of staying positive despite recent injury setbacks.

“We don’t think negatively – we focus on the positive. We’ve had injuries, but we’ve also recovered players. We must manage the squad well. What we have achieved so far is fantastic.”

Flick also looked ahead to Barcelona’s Champions League quarter-final second leg against Atlético Madrid. His team trail after the first leg, but he believes a comeback is well within reach.

“We don’t need a miracle – we simply need to play a strong game, and we can do that. Anything is possible.

Atlético are a fantastic side, but we have a good team and we are capable of turning it around.”

The winner of this tie will face either Arsenal or Sporting CP in the semi-finals. Arsenal currently hold a 1-0 advantage from their first leg in Portugal.

Flick concluded with a clear message about his team’s ambitions. “We have the quality to win La Liga and the right mentality to do it.

But you cannot win anything with quality alone. We can win the league – but the job is not done yet.”
