Barcelona defender Jules Kounde is willing to leave the team during the summer transfer window

According to reports, the France international is dissatisfied that this season he will be playing right back instead of his preferred center-back position. At Bordeaux and Sevilla, the 24-year-old made his breakthrough as a central defender.

However, Xavi still uses him as a full-back due to his small stature and adeptness at carrying the ball. The club’s lack of options at right-back does not help.

In their 4-3-3 system, Xavi has decided to utilise Andreas Christensen and Ronald Araujo as the centre defenders. When Xavi substituted Kounde at halftime of their most recent game against Real Sociedad, Kounde was very upset. The manager placed him in central defence after winning the game. But Sociedad managed to get him out of position and play around him, so he was replaced.

Barcelona is said to be taken aback by his position because he has played enough games to understand his significance. One of the most vicious defences in La Liga history features Kounde. This season, they have only given up 15 goals thanks to him. Atletico Madrid’s 18 goals allowed in the 2015–16 season is the fewest ever in the twenty-first century. In his 27 league games, he has assisted them in keeping 17 clean sheets. Barcelona is aware that owing to their financial condition, they must sell players this summer.

They won’t detain any players against their will, but they will seek €80 million for the defender with Parisian roots. Before Kounde joined Barca, he attracted interest from Arsenal and Chelsea. With the Blues loaded at the back, the Gunners might make a comeback for him. As they get ready for Champions League play next season, they want to sign a new center-back.
