Karim Benzema Wins La Liga Best Player Over Lionel Messi

Lionel Messi in an astonishing fashion has been voted the second-best La Liga player this season.

Karim Benzema took the top spot with 37% of the votes flying in his favour while Messi received just 31%.

The latter could not lead Barcelona to a third consecutive league title but enjoyed a stellar individual campaign. He collected his 7th Pichichi award with 25 goals and also led the assist charts with 21, which is a new La Liga record now. Benzema scored 21 goals and was greatly influential for his team.
