Ronald Koeman has backed his team to make a charge for the title in the league this season.
“It seems so, but we have the experience [to know] that it is not easy to keep up with this rhythm of matches, of quality… the important thing is to take it one match at a time,” he explained.
“Today the sun is shining, but tomorrow it could rain. We have to keep up the energy, be humble and continue on this path.
“We have to focus rather than look at others. All teams have ups and downs, and the ones that have the fewest downs win the league title.”
“I haven’t spoken much with the presi because there are a lot of matches and it has to be all official for him,” Koeman noted.
“I spoke briefly on the trip to Paris, but [about] various things. We need to meet for more time. It’s not the right time to talk about it, because it’s a club matter.”
“This team has a lot of potential because there is a lot of quality in the team and we have changed things,” he stated.
“It’s the path we’ve always started on, which is not finished yet. It also depends on the [senior members of the squad].
“There is a lot of talk about the youngsters, but we also have to highlight the quality, commitment and energy of the older players like Leo [Messi], [Sergio] Busquets, [Jordi] Alba, Sergi Roberto, [Gerard] Pique… In general the team has a lot of potential.”
